We need more free WiFi
I wrote this entry while drinking a nice cup of frozen tea at a cafe in Pondok Indah Mall 2, thanks to the free wifi connection available here. Places with free wifi are slowly becoming common place in Jakarta and some big cities - Bandung is one of the best example with its growing free wifi courtesy of Melsa.
FYI, internet access in Jakarta, Indonesia in general, is crap. And I think Indonesia is one of few countries which still offered internet speed in kbps with the price of MBps (384kbps - unlimited for $200 a month? yeah rite). So the growth of free wifi is a nice thing to have and hopefully, the growth wouldn't stop because of some, happened all the time in this country, stupid regulations. Of course, lowering the internet access price will be the best solution for everybody... well, except that opportunistic monopolistic corrupt telecommunication government-owned company which I will not write its name here - shame on you.

I second that motion. There should be free WiFi everywhere ;) I was in the Netherlands last week and was paying my way thru WiFi at the hotel, at the airport, in town, etc... What ticked me were the different providers: I wish there was a pay-as-you-go card that accessed all.
